Yssyk Kol lake

Although the name “Yssyk-Kol” means “hot lake” in Kyrgyz, the water’s real temperature never reaches above 14°C (57°F) due to the lake’s depth and position. The Tien Shan mountain range surrounds the lake, enhancing its natural beauty and offering many of chances for trekking, camping, and other outdoor activities.

The Kyrgyz people, who have lived in the area for generations, are one of the many ethnic groups that call the area around Yssyk-Kol home. The lake is a significant location for biodiversity since it is home to a wide range of plants and animals, including some endemic species.
